About Abel Enterprises

Starting out as a social enterprise in 1984, ABEL Enterprises was created to provide skill development and supportive employment to individuals 16 years of age and up who are living with a mental illness.

ABEL Enterprises operates a woodworking business with skilled trades people providing instruction and support. Members of the ABEL program receive training in safety, machine operation, quality control, and product assembly.

We receive contracts from a variety of community sources - including school boards - requesting construction of specialized assistive devices. Individuals attending ABEL will also be given the opportunity to construct projects for themselves.

ABEL Enterprises receives funding from the HNHB Local Health Integration Network and Ontario Trillium Foundation.
